The site still has your name on it. It just does not work. The login is lost. A plugin asks for an update you should not click. On a phone the menu covers the number. Google still lists you. The page that opens is from 2014.
That is a dead WordPress site. Plenty of small businesses have one. The software is not the point. The point is that nobody can change a sentence, and a customer cannot finish a simple job.
You do not have to keep WordPress to keep the work the site should do:
- Hours, phone, and address that are true this week.
- A page that opens on a phone without pinching.
- Text and photos you can change yourself, without a developer for a new sentence.
- Hosting that stays up, and a backup if it does not.
The old posts, the old photos, the old address in Google — keep what is still true. Throw away the rest. A new site can be a few clear pages. It does not have to be another WordPress install.
